Administering authorities and scheme employers in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) have to formulate, publish and keep under review a statement of policy on certain discretions which they have the power to exercise in relation to members of the LGPS. 

Discretions are where the administering authority or scheme employer need to make a decision and an element of choice in making it exists within the scheme regulations.

Our discretions, which have been set by the county council as the fund’s administering authority, are outlined in the document attached to this page.
